Registered Associate Nutritionist based in Surrey

Hi, my name is Julia. I’m a Registered Associate Nutritionist with a BSc in Nutrition based in Esher, Surrey.

My philosophy is to encourage healthy, realistic eating habits which fit around your individual lifestyle.

I will help you understand what foods work for you and your own individual goals.

Those goals might be to lose weight; help with allergies or intolerances; understand the optimal nutrition for your specific situation; timing the right foods for exercise … or just to understand how to eat more healthily.

It is important that we establish eating habits together which not only achieve your short-term goals but are sustainable in the long-term.

I offer individual consultations on a variety of topics and run a weight management plan if this is your goal.

I also work with corporate clients and sports organisations on tailor-made packages suited to their goals, including wellbeing sessions and workshops.

My Philosophy

I don’t believe in low fat, low carb or any other unnecessarily restrictive diet. The three energy sources from food are protein, fats and carbohydrates. Each play an essential role in the healthy functioning of our bodies.

  • Protein is essential for numerous functions including for growth and repair, to make hormones and enzymes and to support our immune system.
  • Fats are our main energy store and protect our vital organs. Fats form the membrane of every cell in our body. They support brain function, help produce certain hormones and transport fat soluble vitamins.
  • Carbohydrates are the primary source of energy in our muscles, organs and especially our brain. Fibre is also an important form of carbohydrate which passes through our digestive system largely untouched but is crucial for a healthy gut.

However, every individual is different and might need a different approach. My philosophy is to help you achieve a healthy, realistic diet which fits around your lifestyle.

The Association for Nutrition (AfN) is an independent regulator for Registered Nutritionists. It holds the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN), the only register of qualified nutritionists recognised by Public Health England and the NHS. Only nutrition professionals who have suitable qualifications and rigorously applied standards for scientifically sound evidence-based nutrition are able to register on the UKVRN.
